Welcome to the LivingKZN website.

It gives us great pleasure to introduce you to LivingKZN, an initiative run under the auspices of the Council of KwaZulu-Natal Jewry (CKNJ).

Earlier this year the CKNJ ran a strategic planning seminar, and in this session, the idea of our exciting LivingKZN campaign was sparked.

The objective of this project is to grow our vibrant Jewish community by encouraging and assisting Jewish families to locate to Durban. We believe KZN has a wonderful lifestyle to offer people looking to escape the rat race.

While our numbers are smaller than the larger centres we have an extremely vibrant and active community, including all the required Jewish facilities.

KwaZulu-Natal offers an enviable lifestyle: be it the great year-round climate, wonderful holiday destinations within close proximity to Durban: the Drakensberg, the Wild Coast, beaches stretching from the South to the North of the province, numerous 'Big-5' game reserves and much more.

Durban has a thriving economy, and in this respect, we realise that to encourage those who wish to locate to KZN, we would need to assist in finding suitable employment and business opportunities. Therefore to assist those families in their move here, we have worked closely with local business. We have under the Business link a subheading where all job/business opportunities are listed (click here) . In support of this, we have obtained the services of a local recruitment company who have been mandated to assist us in placing suitable candidates in their chosen fields.

Added to this, we have established a "Welcoming Committee'' that will help you and your family settle here, and answer all your relevant questions.

We would like to encourage those who are interested in relocating to Durban to contact our Community Liaison Officer Grant Maserow, on 031 332 6702 or email: projects@djc.co.za - who will be able to assist with all queries regarding this initiative.
